Exams & Cleaning

Keep your teeth healthy and clean by regular exams and cleaning

Exams & Cleaning

Keeping a healthy clean mouth is the most important part of dental care. Regular exams, and cleanings are a critical part of oral health. Aside from basic oral care, Eyvazi Dental also provides mouth cancer screenings, and digital X-rays to keep your mouth clean and healthy.

Dental Exam

Regular dental exams are a very important part of oral health. At minimum, bi-yearly exams can catch potential problems in their early stages before they do significant damage to teeth or gums. A dental exam can be as basic as a visual inspection of the health of teeth and gums, or a comprehensive visit which could include X-rays, detail periodontal and gum evaluation including gum pocket measurements, and recommendations and suggestions for proper tooth care.

Digtial X-Rays

Eyvazi dental utilizes the latest imaging technologies to enhance the quality of care, and improve the level of comfort for patients. Digital X-rays provide a quicker turnaround time, and produce clearer images, while exposing the patient to a smaller amount of radiation than traditional X-ray technology.

Mouth Cancer Screening

An oral cancer screening is used to determine the presence of cancer or signs of developing cancer in a patient’s mouth. The purpose of doing an oral cancer screening is to hopefully catch any developing growth in its early stages where treatment is most likely to produce positive results. If you are in a high-risk group, it is recommended that you make an appointment for an oral cancer screening. A few examples of high-risk categories include tobacco users of any kind, those who are heavy consumers of alcohol, or those who have had significant sun exposure which specifically increases the likelihood of lip cancer.

Cleanings

Teeth cleanings contribute to your oral health and well-being in a significant way. It is recommended that teeth be professionally cleaned by a dentist or a dental hygienist at least once every six months. People with gum disease must discuss with their oral health professional the ideal course of treatment to keep teeth and gums healthy. During a teeth cleaning appointment your dentist and oral hygienist will work on removal of plaque, tartar, and stains, and polish your teeth including any fillings or restorations.
